Governor Tim Walz and state agencies including the Department of Employment and Economic Development, Department of Health, and Department of Labor and Industry are working together to safely allow some non-Critical Sector businesses to open, while abiding by the Stay at Home order issued on March 25, 2020 and extended until May 18, 2020.

Effective May 4, 2020:

  • Customer-facing retail businesses that sell goods are permitted to engage in curbside or outside pick-up and delivery as long as they:
    • Do not permit customers to enter the business premises.
    • Have created a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan that follows MDH and CDC guidelines and meets OSHA standards.
    • Are following the health and safety protocols outlined in EO 20-48, including conducting health screenings of workers

DEED has provided a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan template that businesses can use at the following link:http://www.dli.mn.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/COVID_19_business_plan_template.pdf.
