THE OPENING OF MILLE LACS COUNTY BUILDINGS TO THE PUBLIC

Mille Lacs County is starting a phased approach to reopening all County facilities. Resident and employee safety remains our primary focus to ensure that services are restored in a safe manner that mitigates the potential transmission of COVID-19 throughout County facilities. The Mille Lacs County Historic Courthouse and Justice Center will reopen to the public on Monday, June 22, 2020, with the exception of Community and Veterans Services and the County Attorney’s Office open by appointment only. Mille Lacs County will also continue providing normal services to the public via phone, email, fax, and mail.

Mille Lacs County has developed a Preparedness Plan to assist with the transition of reopening County facilities. The Preparedness Plan may be viewed on the County website (www.millelacs.mn.gov). The public is encouraged to wear face coverings and practice social distancing while visiting County facilities. Do not enter County facilities if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness.

County Facilities Status:

Community and Veterans Services will remain closed to the public until further notice. All appointments will be conducted via phone, email, or video chat. Please call Community and Veterans Services at 320-983-8208 to schedule a virtual appointment.

The Historic Courthouse will reopen to the public on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. The Auditor-Treasurer’s Office will accept passport applications by appointment only; passport photos cannot be processed at this time.

The Justice Center will reopen to the public with the exception that the County Attorney’s Office will be open by appointment only. Please call the County Attorney’s Office at 320-983-8305 to schedule an appointment.
