U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced extended foreclosure and eviction moratorium for all Single-Family Housing Direct Home Loans through Aug. 31, 2020.
The moratorium applies to:• Initiation of foreclosures or completion of foreclosures in process, excluding vacant and abandoned properties.• Evictions of borrowers from properties bought with a USDA direct home loan.
USDA’s Single Family Housing Direct Home Loan program (Section 502 Direct Loan program) assists low- and very-low-income applicants obtain decent, safe and sanitary housing in eligible rural areas by providing payment assistance to increase an applicant’s repayment ability.
